Winging It!

We boarded in DC a full hour before the flight left. Lucky us. We chased the moon during most of the flight from the States until morning sunlight touched the clouds. It was then that the passengers actually slept a bit. They feed you well on South African Airlines. The supply of warm, actually tasty, food didn’t end. We have found the people here to be overly helpful to the two of us. It probably doesn’t hurt that we appear a bit anxious and may be seen wandering in circles with our luggage cart.

It is a beautiful and softly breezy Wednesday night here in Johannesburg. We are staying at the City Lodge near the airport. With laughter in their voices and almost dancing in their steps, everyone here, from the receptionists to the waiters to the cooks, seems to enjoy teaching us Zulu phrases and they appreciate our attempts to learn. They all have more energy than we do right now!

  4. Lovin' all your journaling and beautiful descriptions coming to our home!!! Keep 'em coming.

My sister, Martha really did not wake up more than 2 hours before sunset and saw the elephants with you! If so,then, as they say in Princess Bride, "inconcievable!"

So happy and excited for you that you are having the adventure of a lifetime!!!!
    Yum
